This time, instead of the car eventually succumbing to the will of its braking system, it crashed into a stone wall. Fortunately the owner was reportedly just pulling out of her driveway in Harrison, NY and the car only accelerated across the street, though the collision allegedly sent “some pretty big boulders” flying, said one police chief.

Filed under: Government/Legal Is CARB backing down on its so-called “cool cars” regulation? On May 7, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will have to turn in its final draft of the controversial regulations, which calls for automakers to build cars and trucks with windows that prevent 45% of the sun’s energy from entering a vehicle by 2014 and 60% by 2016. Vehicle manufacturers have argued that it will be expensive to meet the requirements, and other groups are complaining for their own reasons

Carl Edwards has been placed on a three race probation for his deliberate punting of Brad Keselowski in last Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500. Edwards was not fined, suspended or docked points for Sunday’s crash. Per NASCAR president Mike Helton, “We made it clear to Carl that this wasn’t acceptable (behavior), that it went beyond what we said in January about letting drivers police themselves.” Helton went on to say, “We parked Carl (after Sunday’s incident) and gave him the three race probation for what he did.” Which means nothing, really

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PREMIER Mike Rann announced today that the state's police commissioner will be given the power to permanently strip repeat offending drink-drivers and drug-drivers of their licences, if his government is reelected in the upcoming elections. “In the same way that certain people are not allowed to hold a gun licence, certain people should never be allowed to hold a driver's licence,” Mr Rann said. “In the wrong hands, cars can be lethal too.&qu..

A new California regulation will require vehicle manufacturers to reduce heat absorption through vehicle glass by using reflective glazing on 2012 model year vehicles. Deemed the “Cool Cars” law, its purpose is to reduce the interior temperatures, thus reducing the demand on vehicle air conditioning systems and (in theory, at least) reducing greenhouse gasses. Problem: the reflective glazing blocks solar radiation, but it also blocks signals from cell phones (a good thing, unless you’re dialing 911) and GPS-tracking devices worn by felons (a bad thing).

WRAL reports that a group of Durham residents are so angry about people speeding through they neighborhood they have posted signs warning that speeders will be blasted with paintball guns. The group, Angry Neighbors With Paintball Guns, posted signs at strategic locations throughout the city, warning motorists to slow down or risk being shot at with a paintball gun. The group does not say if the signs are meant to serve only as an attention-grabber or if it plans to shoot paintballs at vehicles.

1. Have a stupidly fast car that not even the police chopper can keep up with.
2. If at anytime you can (when it’s safe) do a fast U turn into the otherside of the road and nail it in the opposite direction.
3. If you have enough time to stop then stop and do and almight great burnout and fill the place with smoke and high tail it out of there.
4. Don’t ever slow down enough for the cops to perform the PIT move.
5. If you are ever in a police chase just remember there are other lives on the road, and it’s not just there lives you’d be ruining if you killed them.
